OP
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF POPULAR CULTURE
Turin- from 5th to 8th July 2012
VII Edition
|
Op International Festival of Popular Orality, is dedicated to the knowledge passing on. The Festival was born to meet the need of finding new models of socialization, expressed by the community we live in. Young generation in particular, pay attention to rites and feasts of past memories. They are at the centre of the reflexion, they don’t try to restore past, and all they want is to look into the future. The 3 OP meetings days, will give us the opportunity to take stock of the situation, control the research projects and the activities realized throughout the year; meet “Masters” and “Witnesses” so that the passing on to the future generations can pass through the performative act, made of improvisation and imitation. It’s also an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices and bring them back in communes and provinces of our beautiful country.
For the 2012 Edition, we would like make some “best Practices” stories and experiences public. For us the best practices are the most significant experiences or at least those which have created an efficient, innovative and durable practice. A method that can be adopted and be effective in other territories, in similar contexts. Within the scope of the program concept, we would like to know and welcome inside the Festival, the best practices, especially the Euro-Mediterranean zone ones, in specific fields: the housing, the work and the economy.
This year OP will host a large session dedicated to the Euro-Mediterranean area. Before the Charter of Value signature, which will take place in Sassari in June and will celebrate the birth of “Arianna. Euro Mediterranean Network of Culture and Heritage”, OP will give rise to meeting and dialogue capable of promoting the experiences exchange between, mostly, the new generations protagonists of the both Mediterranean shores social life. Indeed we believe that the meeting and the exchange of experiences, projects, and political prospects are privileged ways for surpassing cultural barriers and creating active, conscious and participating citizenship.
